Meth contamination occurs when methamphetamine is used or manufactured in a property. The drug deposits as residue on walls, ceilings, floors, and soft furnishings. It is invisible, odourless at low levels, and a health risk to anyone who lives there. Standard cleaning does not remove it. Certified decontamination uses approved methods, HEPA air scrubbers, and chemical treatment across all affected surfaces. Kiwi Safeas provides that service for Auckland and Northland property owners. IICRC certified technicians. Fixed-price quotes. Insurance-approved clearance certificates.
Kiwi Safeas is Auckland-based. We cover the entire Auckland region plus Northland: from Whangarei, Kaitaia, and the Far North in the north, through Rodney, the North Shore, Waitakēre, and central Auckland, down to Manukau, Papakura, and Pukekohe in the south.Auckland is one of our four operational hubs. That means a local team with real knowledge of Auckland and Northland properties. We provide a free meth decontamination quote within 1 working day of receiving your testing report. Once approved, work starts within 2 working days.
Every Kiwi Safeas technician holds current IICRC certification. Our clearance certificates are accepted by major NZ insurance companies, courts, and the Tenancy Tribunal. We provide fixed-price quotes with no hidden costs. Our documentation meets the standards of Auckland's largest property management companies. Whether the property is in Remuera or Rawene, you get the same certified process and the same documentation quality.
Auckland and Northland landlords now operate under New Zealand’s first mandatory meth contamination framework, in force from 15 April 2026. The new rules apply equally across all of Auckland and all of Northland, including Whangarei, the Kaipāra district, and the Far North. The previous NZS8510:2017 voluntary standard (threshold of 1.5 µg/100cm²) has been replaced by two enforceable statutory thresholds.
Properties above 15 µg/100cm² anywhere in Auckland or Northland cannot be re-let until decontaminated and cleared. Properties above 30 µg/100cm² are considered uninhabitable, with tenancy termination rights triggered under the RTA. South Auckland, Henderson, Mangere, and Glen Innes have historically seen above-average meth contamination. The new framework applies equally across every Northland town and rural property.
Kiwi Safeas issues clearance certificates that satisfy both the NZS8510:2017 standard and the new 2026 thresholds, so Auckland and Northland property owners have documentation that works for any insurer, Tribunal, or legal requirement.
